WOMENS 4s

SEASON VII
RECREATIONAL/INTERMEDIATE

VICTORY LANE
TUESDAY 6:30PM-10PM

The Womens league is for recreational/intermediate level players. Have a basic understanding of the rules and fundamentals (bump set spike or 3 hit mentality), and able to communicate well with your team. Players should start to develop a consistent serve that are in-bounds, a better understanding of positioning on court (knowing where to be), and start to identify “bad sets”, lifts, throws and double hits.

OVERVIEW:

  • 4v4

  • Recreational / intermediate

  • 8 weeks / tournament on week 9

  • 16 matches / play with every team once

  • Prize for league champion (#1 ranked team) at the end of week 8

  • Medals and prizes for tournament winners on week 9

  • Every player receives a league shirt

Weekly:

  • There will be two time slots each week at 6:30 & 8:00pm. Each slot will consist of half the players playing their two matches.

    • “Slot 1” matches will start at 6:30pm. This will be the first half of teams.

    • “Slot 2” matches will start at 8:00pm. This will be the second half of teams.

  • Play two matches per week (best of 3)

  • Each match you will be mixed into a new team (play with different players)

Groups are created so that you do not need to be there for the whole 4 hours. You only need to come for your games.

Players:

All players will be invited to the Band app group upon joining the league where all communication, updates, and information will be pushed out on a weekly basis, including:

  • Schedule

    • Full season schedule and all matches to be played

    • Detailed weekly schedules, locations, and weekly RSVPs so players and opponents know what to expect at upcoming games

  • Team ranking

    • Your rank in the standings will be recorded based on team score (wins/loses/points)

  • Standings

    • Wins / loses / points in that order. Example: Team with most wins is top seed. If tied for wins, then team with least loses. If tied wins and loses, then most points.

    • Standings will be updated on a weekly basis

  • Group chats where players can communicate with each other and subs- this is also where players will communicate with coordinators, and vis versa.

Subs:

  • If you need a sub

    • YOU MUST FIND YOUR OWN SUBS. It is your responsibility to find a sub if you cannot make it. If you need help finding someone, talk please talk to league director. If you are a no-show, and you don’t communicate that you won’t be there, you will get an automatic 0-2 loss (forfeit).

  • Penalty for needing a sub

    • If you need ONE sub, you will be deducted -5 from that match automatically.

    • If your WHOLE team needs subs, you will automatically get an 0-2 loss (forfeit). There are no rewards for not showing up.

      • if you are late, automatic -5 deduction

Some things to think about:

  • Sign up with a teammate (notice: individual sign ups cannot be accommodated).

  • If you’re unable to commit to the full season, please consider signing up as a substitute.

    • (notice: being a sub does not guarantee playtime. Openings are subject to the absence of regular season players on a weekly basis)

Please contact the director for any questions or concerns.

The purpose of this league is so we can all have fun and get better at the game- with competition of course 😉. Can’t wait to start!
